At the Grand Lodge's celebration gathering on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the Oddfellows Order, the Women's Shelter was presented with a generous grant; thirty-two million ISK to cover the cost of two apartments, apartments 105 and 106, in the apartment building that will house the Women's Shelter's transitional home. Sigþrúður Guðmundsdóttir and Eygló Harðardóttir accepted the gift from the Oddfellows Order on behalf of the Women's Shelter.
The gift was accompanied by beautiful words about courage that well describe the work that the prospective residents of the house have ahead of them; Sometimes it takes courage and guts to move forward in life. By looking inward, looking at oneself with positive eyes and searching for the strengths that exist within a person, one finds the courage that is necessary to move forward.
We appreciate your generosity and kind words towards the shelter and our people.
