About the organization
The women's shelter is run by a non-governmental organization; the Association for Women's Shelters.
Founding meeting Women's Shelter Association was held on June 2, 1982, and on December 6 of the same year, the Women's Shelter was opened. In 2010, a non-profit organization was established to own the Women's Shelter, but the operation of the shelter remained unchanged.
Board of Directors
Members of the organization elect a five-member board and two alternates at the annual general meeting held in April each year. At this meeting, fundamental changes to the organization's operations are approved.
The board of directors, which is responsible for the operation of the shelter, generally meets monthly and more often if necessary. At board meetings, the board and the executive team meet and compare their books, but the board is responsible for the operations as a whole, makes all major decisions and drafts the work of the executive team.
